“I like that there’s a plan for the whole year. We know what they’re working towards, instead of trying to cram everything in just before exams.”
Amina RahmanParent of a Year 6 pupil
“I like knowing what we’re doing next. It feels like the lessons fit together instead of being a different thing every time.”
AdamYear 6 pupil
“The monthly assessments show me if I actually remember a topic later, not just straight after the lesson.”
MiraYear 8 pupil
“They started exam questions early, which helped Leila get used to how they’re worded. It wasn’t all left until revision season.”
David OkaforParent of a Year 10 pupil
“The hard-topic clinic is good because I can ask about the bit I got stuck on in class. We don’t have to start the whole topic again.”
YusufYear 7 pupil
“We’ve been doing exam questions since the beginning. At first I didn’t know how to lay out my answers, but now the format feels more familiar.”
LeilaYear 10 pupil
“The monthly assessments give us a clearer picture than asking Mira whether she thinks she’s doing okay. We can see which topics need another look.”
Priya NairParent of a Year 8 pupil
“The homework is usually about what we’ve just done, so I can remember the lesson while I practise it.”
NoaYear 9 pupil
“I thought exam questions were something you only did near the exams. Doing them from the start has helped me notice what the question is asking.”
MateoYear 11 pupil
“The termly parents’ evening is useful because we can talk through Mateo’s progress and ask what would help at home.”
Sofia CostaParent of a Year 11 pupil
“The work is planned for the whole year, so when we finish a topic I know it might come back again later.”
AnikaYear 6 pupil
“I went to a clinic for a topic I kept getting wrong. I didn’t feel rushed, and I could ask the same question twice.”
AhmedYear 10 pupil
“Yusuf has weekly homework, but it’s connected to what he’s been learning. He knows what he’s meant to practise.”
Ibrahim HassanParent of a Year 7 pupil
“The assessments help me see which subjects I’ve revised and which ones I’ve just been avoiding.”
AmaraYear 11 pupil
“The pre-reading means I’ve heard some of the new words before the lesson. I’m less worried about getting them wrong.”
EvaYear 5 pupil
“Amelie used to arrive at a new topic without knowing much about it. Having some pre-reading to do beforehand seems to help her settle in quicker.”
Helen MorganParent of a Year 9 pupil
“We practise writing answers in the way the exam wants, not just remembering facts. That’s helped me see what I need to explain.”
KarimYear 12 pupil
“I know we get homework every week, so I try to do it before the weekend gets busy.”
ZaynYear 5 pupil
“The teaching feels very organised. There’s a routine, clear work to complete and a sense that the year has been thought through.”
Ravi PatelParent of a Year 5 pupil
“I like having a plan for the year. I can see what we’re working on now and what I’ll need to remember for exams.”
JiaYear 10 pupil
“The clinic helped with fractions. I’d been getting the same kind of question wrong, and we worked through where I went off track.”
LucyYear 8 pupil
“Samir’s attended a couple of the hard-topic clinics. He’s more comfortable saying, ‘I still don’t get this bit,’ and staying with it.”
Mariam AliParent of a Year 10 pupil
“At parents’ evening my mum found out what I’m good at and what I need to practise. It was nice that we talked about both.”
AyaanYear 6 pupil
“I used to revise by reading the same page again and again. Now I do questions and see what I actually remember.”
MateoYear 11 pupil
“Nia knows there will be regular assessments, so she’s getting into the habit of keeping up with topics as they come along.”
Grace MensahParent of a Year 8 pupil
“The practice tests are a bit stressful, but they’re not as scary as the real thing because I know what to expect.”
AnikaYear 6 pupil
“It has the sort of structure I’d associate with a private school: a clear programme and regular practice. We also know what’s coming up.”
Tomáš NovákParent of a Year 6 pupil
“I like that if I get a question wrong, we work out which bit I missed. We don’t just move on.”
AdamYear 6 pupil
“Karim’s getting exam practice from the start of the course. He’s had time to learn the content and understand how to show what he knows.”
Leila HaddadParent of a Year 12 pupil
“I like when we go through my writing and find one thing to make better. It doesn’t feel like everything is wrong.”
SamirYear 7 pupil
“The homework is manageable alongside school. Noa usually knows where to start, and if she’s stuck on a particular topic there’s a clinic she can go to.”
Chloe WilliamsParent of a Year 9 pupil
“My tutor makes me say how I got the answer, not just what I got. Sometimes I realise I didn’t know it as well as I thought.”
AmaraYear 11 pupil
“The monthly check-ins have helped Amara notice gaps earlier. It gives her something specific to work on instead of just saying she needs to revise more.”
Kwame BoatengParent of a Year 11 pupil
“I like maths more when I can use a picture first. I don’t have to do it all in my head.”
EvaYear 5 pupil
“The pre-reading has been a good nudge for Zayn. He comes in with a few questions already, which is new for him.”
Farah BegumParent of a Year 5 pupil
“I can bring in a topic from class that didn’t make sense, and we go through it properly during the weekly clinic. That’s one of the most useful bits.”
KarimYear 12 pupil
“The termly meeting gave us time to talk about Jia’s progress properly. We left knowing what she was confident with and what still needed work.”
Mei ChenParent of a Year 10 pupil
“I’m better at checking my work now. I still make mistakes, but I catch some of them before I hand it in.”
